Please Don't Die
In Antalya, Turkey, people discovered a very sad situation. A cat had been hit by a car and another cat tries to revive it. It does the thing with its paws like the kittens do when they feed on their mothers` milk and then it lies down close to the deceased cat. It stayed like that for two hours, until a vet came and took the body of its dead friend.

King County Court House Artwork
Tile on the floor
There are many panels with this type of artwork
This is a close-up of the technique
The close-up picture is the head of the man on the right
It looks like a charcoal drawing
Another piece above the elevators
And another on the opposite side
I took these photos in the lobby of the King County Courthouse when I was on jury duty.
For a description of the artwork and more photos click here. Once you are on the site, click on the first picture to enlarge and you will get a nice tour. Put your cursor over a picture in the tour and it will give a description.

Primula
Actinidia kolomikta (variegated kiwi vine)
Close-up of a branch of the Dawn Redwood
Another rhododendron
Not your usual swimming pool
Many statues can be found on the estate
Always one of my favorites
There are many different gardens. This was in the fern garden
A look at the house with the Dawn Redwood on the left
Another view of the house
A humungous Douglas Fir
Some of the many colors one sees
My friend John and I had always heard of the garden and decided to check it out. It was on a Sunday afternoon and surprisingly, there were very few visitors. There is a gift shop and the proprietor is very fun and knowledgeable. I highly recommend a visit to Lakewold. To see more about the garden and estate, check it out here.
